T’ien Shan P’ai
At Superior Martial Arts boxing art was brought to the United States by Willy Lin a skilled student of the system. Willy Lin wrote about this art form and we thank him for bringing it to the states. From excerpts of his writings we learn that T’ien Shan P’ai means Sky, Mountain, Fist. “According to it’s philosophy, the Shaolin boxing art promotes mental and physical health, cultivates long life and provides an efficient means of self-defense.” “The art’s emphasis on graceful motions and actions facilitates the ideal, natural growth of the body and maintenance of sound balance.” “This emphasis also engenders in the student the ability to sit, walk, and move with smoothness and fluidity in all aspects of his/her life.” “In addition to facile precise movements, the Shaolin boxing art develops in the fighter strong muscles, tendons and bones and a high degree of skill in responding effectively to an opponent’s actions.”
